Yesterday I took a trip to Ijburg, a newly built town with to the west of Amsterdam on the Ijmeer (the lake). A rather charming place with a mix of modern houses and built on man made islands in the rough waters of the lake. It was snowing and windy and extremely cold but it really did not matter - because at the end of my journey by train and a bus there was something that I had been hoping for for a long time:
KIK-KID.
Yes yes yes. Kik-Kid!!
The new office looks out onto the yacht harbor and is situated over 2 floors. Each is a pearly white big open space with bright lighting.Wow! Filling that white space with a mass of color is the Kik-Kid collection hanging neatly per color against each wall. Double Wow! It is simply stunning.
It may seem like the easiest thing in the world to do, but the hard part is picking out a collection - which colors? Boys? Girls? Both?? Mums too?? More babies?? This is always so nice to do but so difficult. Kik-Kid, offering a great collection for kids, teens and mums make it so much more difficult. Luckily Anneke was there to give me a hand and show me the best sellers and remind me of the best selling colors.
So after two and a half hours of picking and choosing and umming and ahhing I had finally got a small but extremely colorful collection together for the Little Department Store.
The Kik-Kid winter collection is mostly made of thick comfy velour in bright colors - baby suits, dresses (matching baby and big sister) and training vests. Winter jackets are a must and of course the Kik-Kidd hats cannot be missed.
The summers collection is made of bright colored shorts, stretchy cotton baby suits in bright starred cloth, underwear sets that can be worn as t-shirts and of course dresses. All the below items I have in the summer collection ... cannot wait to get it!
